"The Palúus: Honoring A People and Their Land"
[Nu'nim Wa'tish'wa] "This is Our Land"
This conference will inform participants about the traditional cultures of the Plateau and pay tribute to the individuals who have preserved these traditions. This year, the conference will have a special focus on the Palúus. The conference will provide opportunities to explore how the tribes are working to preserve their cultural traditions and the natural resources of their lands. Tribal elders, leaders, students along with researchers, educators, and other professionals and interested community members will participate in listening and sharing sessions that address historical and contemporary issues that have and continue to effect the status of Tribes. The conference will also address the work that is being done to preserve the language, culture, history, and cultural and natural resources of the Plateau peoples.
