Academic & Professional Interests
Meyer teaches ancient, world, and women's history. She is also the co-advisor of the WSU History Club and the Gamma Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, and she serves on the board of directors for the Whitman County Historical Society.
Honors & Awards
She has received several teaching awards, including the Freshman Seminar Shared Course Faculty Award (2004–05), Honors College Outstanding Faculty Award (1997), and the Mortar Board Distinguished Professor Award (1996). She was also the recipient of the Women's Classical Caucus Award for Best Oral Paper (1999).
Publications
Her publications include Global Passages: Sources in World History (Houghton-Mifflin, 2003); "The Political Influence of Livia Drusilla during the Reign of Augustus" (Selecta, 1990); and "The Chinese Must Go! Anti-Chinese Sentiment in Columbia County, 1870–1919" (Pacific Northwest Forum, 1984). She is currently working on "Femina Habilis: A Biographical Dictionary of Active Women in the Roman World from Earliest Times to 527 CE."
