Graduate Student - PhD Rhetoric and Composition
Anna Plemons is a PhD student in Rhetoric and Composition. She is currently the Grant Sustainability Coordinator for the CLASP program, but has previous and continued experiences teaching composition and creative writing in a variety of settings. She earned her Masters degree from Kansas State University in Secondary Education – Learning Skills and also has an undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Science from Washington State University. She formerly held an eight-year post as an academic advisor and learning specialist at Washington State University. Her primary research interests revolve around teaching and writing in prison, the complications and implications of such work, and the political economy that obtains. She is also interested in the pivotal role of dialogue between students and teachers outside of class and the measurable effects of such contact on student persistence and self-efficacy.
